Introduction

At the end of what seemed to be a normal high school day, Zoey Redbird finishes it a little out of schedule. On her way to her locker with best friend Kayla, she unexpectedly runs into the House of Night vampire Tracker... Standing in front of HER locker! He's been sent to Mark her to become a vampire. She, nor her friends, believes it... But it happened.

Rising Action

Zoey is well on her way to tell her parents the, not so exciting news about what has happened. The completely ignore what has happened and decided to announce to the world that their daughter is a demon. Zoey couldn't take it anymore so she snuck out to see her grandmother one last time before she started her new life at the House of Night.

 At her grandmother's house, the sun already beginning to irritate the new vampire’s eyes, she was up on the rock looking for her grandmother who was normally up there. When suddenly tripped in a crack and hot her head! While passed out, she was visited by the goddess Nyx. Nyx has blessed Zoey, and when she had, Zoey's Mark had been colored!

Zoey awoke at the House of Night with her grandmother, and Neferet. Neferet was the high priestess of the school. One of the most powerful vampires around. She was one of the most beautiful people Zoey has ever seen, tall long dark brown hair, high cheekbones and piercing green eyes that reminded her of a cat’s eye.

After Zoey said her good-byes, Neferet offered to be Zoey's to be mentor, which was very rare! She shows Zoey around the campus and to her new roommate. On the way, Zoey learned very cool, interesting facts about everything. She met Aphrodite, a total hater against Zoey. She also met her new roommate Stevie-Rae, and Stevie-Rae's friends who she really likes.

About one week through Zoey's new life, a school assembly was held. During the school assembly they call all the elements of the earth, (fire, water, air, earth and spirit) to join them. Zoey feels something for each of them but notices no one else does and realizes something’s up. She has the ability to use these powers whenever she needs, or wants to!

 Aphrodite invites Zoey to join her group, the Dark Daughters and Sons, to try and scare Zoey away. But Zoey is not scared of her at all, especially with her new powers. After the first meeting Zoey has attended, she realized that she has drunk blood for the first time, and like it. This is not normal for a new vampire. So she goes by the big oak tree to think. When suddenly, her almost ex-boyfriend Heath and best friend Kayla come to "save" her.

Zoey accidentally drinks Heath's blood and Imprinted with him. That means they feel each other’s pain, know where each other are, at all times. Even when they're not together. They can even hear each other call out to one another through their thoughts. But after this accident and Heath has left, Zoey just sat there and thought about what would happen if her body rejected the change. She heard in the distance someone running and when she looked, it was a girl who had recently rejected the change! She couldn't believe it.

Climax

 Zoey finally decides to tell her friends about what she has discovered about her powers. They were all ecstatic. They all did some research about one person having the ability to be able to hold all five powers and found that this was unreal news and that this was a very rare and grateful gift from the goddess. Zoey and her friends want, mostly Zoey though, want to see if Zoey's powers are real so they decide to cast their own circle, just as the one from the assembly. They also come up with a plan to "beat" Aphrodite because they all agree that she is not doing nice thing to others and disrespecting Nyx. They want Zoey to take Aphrodite's place as the new leader of the Dark Daughters and Sons.

Falling Action

Zoey experiences the Elliott, not a close friend but still heartbreaking that his body didnt accept the change. She wondered what his parents would say, or what would have happened if she didn't accept the change. She couldn’t imagine it.

 On the way to her next class, after poor little innocent Elliott, she ran in to Aphrodite, but she was in the middle of having one of her visions. She looked so disgusting it was disgusting to look at. She knew something was wrong so Zoey ran to get Neferet.

After classes were done, Zoey was so confused about everything she experienced today so she went by the tree where she had casted her circle to think. Through mid-thought, she smelled something foul smelling and thought she saw Elliott alive and well again. He was running around at an inhuman speed and when he came to a stop Zoey confronted him. He was about to attack when a cat, Nala the cat, jumped out from the bushed and saved Zoey.

Resolution

It was Zoey's second Dark Daughters and Sons ritual, and they snuck out. It wasn’t really sneaking out because the adult vampires knew what they were up to. But it sure felt like it. They went to an abandoned church, when Aphrodite accidentally summoned dark spirits. They wanted blood, human blood, and since Heath felt Zoey coming into town he came out looking for her. The dark spirits attacked Heath. Zoey had to quickly cast another one of her won circles to scare the dark spirits away. She did so with her friends who "tagged along" with the dark daughters. The got rid of the darkness but they said that it would strike again to get revenge on Zoey Redbird.
